Poetry & Open Mic in Newton Centre

Newtonville Books will host a Poetry Party 2-5pm on the newly finished Newton Centre Plaza! Poet/singer-song writer Ingrid Chiemi will play some tunes from “What the Horizon Can Hold,” her new book of song lyrics + art about what’s beyond and ways to reach that https://www.newtonvillebooks.com/book/9798317802318 & also a couple from local artist & author JENNY PIVOR’s beautiful new book of poetry and art, “It’s a Little Skimpy” + Jenny will read from her book, followed an open mic (sign-up available starting at 2pm)! Ingrid will be bringing her Hawaiian instruments, should you or your kids wish to play/perform with them & Newtonville Books is slated to provide colored chalk & poetry prompts : )  Please come and join the fun!  

All net proceeds from Ingrid's book go to Asian Women for Health (AWFH), a non-profit building stronger, healthier communities & mobilizing Asian women and their loved ones facing health issues – more info at https://www.asianwomenforhealth.org.
